Description
This painting called ‘Hanging On’ is referring to the young gorilla hanging on to its mother, and to its survival. Currently there are only about 250 Cross River Gorillas left in the wild. The recent senseless killing of a male Cross River gorilla underlines the importance of effective conservation measures.
Niki Firmin is gifted with the ability to capture the essence of the animals she engages with. It is ultimately the creative processes of nature and what can be done with the paintings to support conservation that inspires her creative endeavours.
Niki Firmin: “We are aiming to raise £20,000 for the establishment of the new gorilla reserves, through the sale of prints of this very special piece of Biro Art. As usual with my Wildlife Conservation Art Projects there is the opportunity to acquire a Museum Quality Limited Edition Giclee Print, providing you with a valuable piece of art for generations to come.”
Print numbers are restricted to only 250 (in recognition of the number of these precious Gorillas left), with each one being personally numbered and signed by Niki Firmin. In addition each one will come with its own Certificate of Authenticity guaranteeing its originality.
